Talks for Adult Groups

I had a great time in Loxwood in early April when I spoke to the Alfold and Loxwood Mother's Union about our life in Provence. "I could smell the lavender on the breeze and it took me back to driving and camping in Provence," Jill Earwaker wrote. "The slides were beautiful and really gave us an idea of the different areas ..." she added.

With Julian Clegg on Radio Solent's Breakfast Show. Local radio really works - I met several people later that week who had heard the broadcast - even though it was at 06.45!

Talks for Schools

I also give talks about writing and many groups find following the process from the initial idea, and then through re-writes, editing and proof reading to the final print a fascinating topic.

The National Curriculum for school children has identified certain aspects of writing which I am happy to talk about and I have found that children frequently benefit from having a different voice from their everyday teacher. I use various stories that I have written and my wife and I include readings within my talk which lasts between forty-five minutes and one hour.

The content of the talk varies according to the age group - although I prefer working with children from Year 6 to Year 8 I am also prepared to give a more substantial talk to students in Years 11 to Year 13. Please contact me if you would like to know more.
