And now for something completely different ~

We are all used to reading books and some of us have discovered eBooks. You can read these from a dedicated reader or you can download them to your computer. But now a company has come up with a new variation on the theme of eBooks - Multimedia Interactive Fiction. They held a competition last year and entries came from all over the world. I was fortunate to receive a runner-up prize for my entry - based upon my Lapis Stories. 

The innovation is that it is for mobile telephones - something to read at any time and in any place!

My story should be available to read in February - I'll put up the details as soon as I have them. The major difference is that the reader can choose how he or she wants the story to unfold. From a writer's point of view it makes it possible to develop several stories at the same time. It imposes restrictions on the writer and offers a fascinating challenge.

It is a great way to encourage young people to write and I am already taking bookings from schools who would like to learn more about it. The technique has appeal to all age ranges and can offer instant improvement in traditional skills.
